Sushi Suzuki

Finally had the chance to visit Sushi Suzuki in Taichung — as someone who’s tried many omakase spots, I really appreciated how traditional and authentic this experience was. All the chefs are Japanese, and you can tell they focus on craftsmanship and quality over showy presentation. It’s all about letting the ingredients speak for themselves. One highlight of this visit was definitely the uni — they served two different types, each presented in its own way. The first was served very simply, allowing you to fully appreciate the pure, clean flavor of the uni itself — incredibly fresh and naturally sweet. The second was crafted into a nigiri, and I was honestly impressed by how well the uni paired with their shari (sushi rice). In fact, their shari is one of the closest I’ve tasted to the top-tier sushi I’ve had in Japan — perfectly seasoned and balanced, really elevating every bite. The chefs were also very friendly and eager to share details about the fish and techniques as they served, which added a lot of depth to the experience. I left not only full and satisfied but also feeling like I had learned something new. Definitely looking forward to returning for another visit!

If you looking for original Omakase then Suzuki is the number one in Taichung or Taiwan. Chef Suzuki San really focus on quality and dedicated to good service. We chose 3800NTD menu and totally satisfied. Majority of the seafoods are direcly imported from Japan daily and super fresh. Chef Suzuki San not only serving but explain clearly the source of the dishes which could make you more familiar with Japanese seafood. Highly recommended,

I made a reservation for Omakase and paid a deposit online. After I arrived at the restaurant on time, I was told that couple of choice of Omakase: 6000 TWD or 3800 TWD. I went for a cheaper one. The food was excellent. The chef was very interactive with me during the whole meal. He told me where, when the food come from and occasionally made some jokes. I ordered a sake with this great meal. YMMV. My meal took around an hour to finish and I was full. It's an entertaining meal. I will definitely going back. By the way, the price was in Taiwan dollar not US dollars.

A wonderful omakase. I loved all dishes in here. It was amazing and tasty, giving me an exceptional experience of omakase. Each dish had its own feature and stunning flavor. it is a place in Taichung worth a try.

Best sushi restaurant in Taichung and perhaps the only authentic sushi restaurant in Taichung! Chef Suzuki San is genuine, skillful and fun, he uses the best seafood available, and uses various techniques to prepare sashimi to bring out the umami and best texture. Food is clean and scrumptious

Quality sushi with a master sushi chef. You need to make a reservation to eat here. The restaurant is small so you get an intimate dinner with the chef. The chef is very friendly and tries to explain every course and can speak pretty good English. Be prepared to spend a whole evening here as the food is served as multiple courses. Most of the ingredients come from Japan and is very tasty. Enjoyed the meal here and would come back again if the chance arises.

Probably one of the finest sushi place in town! Reservation is required and once you are inside you will feel at home. The chef will come to your table to explain the dishes and serve after serve you will be inside a vortex of delicious tastes. They have incredible sake bottles and you can choose different menu. The oyster is divine.

Absolutely amazing restaurant with outstanding service. Each item served comes with a full explanation of the ingredients and their origin. The service is outstanding and the Japanese chef/owner is courteous and friendly. After living in Japan for 12 years (and eating lots of sushi) I can highly recommend the food and service here. Definitely one of my best sushi experiences in Taiwan.
